Bill & I always have so much to be thankful for! We are blessed to have each other, wonderful family, the best friends, a loving church family, & on top of all that the comforts of material things, that a lot of people don't have. Like a home, cars, clothes, & the list could go on forever. We are blessed beyond measure. This year we are especially thankful for one special little guy! We are blessed to have Samuel in our arms forever! He brings so much joy into our lives. Being parents is the hardest, but best thing we have ever done! I absolutely LOVE being a mommy! This was our first Thanksgiving as a family of 3! :)
Samuel has already changed so much since we've been home. And it's hard to believe we've already been home 7 weeks! WOW! Can you believe that? Time surely is flying by & I don't want to miss a single minute.
Here are some of the things he is doing now:
-says mama
-says dada
-pulls up on everything
-cruises around the couch & anything else he pulls up on
-he loves to stand, now that he can...not much sitting
-he loves to read books...the touch & feel books are his favorite!
-he sleeps all night in his crib
-he has 2 teeth on the bottom front
-he loves peek-a-boo
-likes bath time & playing in the water
-talks, or babbles, up a storm!
-giggles & laughs at the sight of our dog, Buddy. They get along great!
-he loves to eat
There are so many things that he is doing now. These are just a few. There's no greater feeling than rocking my baby to sleep at night, or feeding him his bottle while he touches my face. Words can't describe. I've waited so long to be a mommy, that sometimes it seems too good to be true. Do I actually have a baby? Is he really calling me mama? I don't want to take a single thing for granted. I want to relish each & every memory. I love my life, & wouldn't have it any other way.
Mommas that are out there waiting to bring your baby home, or waiting for your referral, don't lose hope. I guarantee that every tear, bump, & road is worth it. Everything that happens along the way is to bring you to YOUR baby...not just any baby. I'm praying for all of my friends that are in the waiting game of adoption. I'm praying that you see your sweet baby's face soon, or for others that you get that travel call soon. I'm so thankful for all of you I've met along this journey. You were all there for me & know that I'm here for you too. Praying sweet friends! :)

What a sweet post.
so awesome! i can't wait to be staring at jai in my house wondering "is he REALLY here?!"
I'm so happy for you, Heather! I know you are an awesome mommy. We need to get together soon so I can see Samuel do all of these things in person! :) Thanks for the encouragement! Sometimes it seems like it will never happen to me...thanks for the reminder that it will!!
So happy for you! My husband and I are waitng for our referral and your post made me smile, so thank you.
Hey Heather...I was checking out the dates on the left and thinking how quickly it went (in hind sight)...you need to update the rest of your dates, when you have spare time :0) We are all so blessed to have Samuel in our family and are amazed at how perfect he is for you and Bill. He has already changed so much and we look forward to seeing him growing into a God-honoring young man one day. I know that the wait was hard, but it has been SO worth it! You and Bill deserve the blessing you have been given.
So happy for you!!! So glad Samuel is home - hoping to meet him sometime. :) Thanks for thinking of those of us who are waiting. Definitely will be worth it!
such a happy, wonderful post to read :)
