We're still here!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while! We've been...umm...busy! The last few nights have been a little rough, but have been getting better everyday. Samuel has his days & nights mixed up, or he thinks we do! He is such a sweet boy. It did pretty good on the plane. Can you imagine a 7 month old being confined to a bassinet or sitting in your lap? We had to put him in the carrier several times & walk the aisles. Considering it was a 13-14 hour plane ride, it wasn't bad. On the plane from NYC to home he slept the whole time. It was only an 1.5 hour plane ride. When we got the airport we had a wonderful welcoming by our family! It was great to see their faces! We were finally home! I didn't know what to expect for the car ride home with him being in the car seat. He did great with that too. He is a very happy & laid back baby. Our only issue now is his sleeping pattern. We are co-sleeping at night, but he takes naps in his crib. Hopefully he'll be in his crib at night soon, but we'll see.

Last night was the best night so far. He slept from 8:30p-12:00a & got a bottle then went back to sleep. Then he woke up at 3:00a. He went back to sleep from 5:00a-8:00a. That was the best! The previous nights we were sleeping 3-4 hours per night & up from about 12:00-1:00 until 8:00a nap time. Needless to say we've been napping when he does. Saturday night he went to sleep at about 9:00p or so & woke up at midnight. Tried for an hour to get him back to sleep, but he wasn't having that. So, I knew that if I put him in the baby carrier (that's a lifesaver!) he would eventually fall asleep. At about 1:00a I put him in the carrier & walked until he was asleep. Each time I tried to lay him down his little eyes would pop open, so I kept him in the carrier & just did laundry, dishes, & finished unpacking. I was hoping this would help him adjust, by "making" him sleep. He woke up at 4:30a & then we all went back to sleep for several hours at about 7:30a. It seemed to help for last night. We'll see how tonight goes!

Sorry for the rambling! It's a little all over the place. Well, here's some pics of our last few days at home. I know that's what you really want! :)

Yeah...I'm sure it could be worse, but it's hard when you're not used to it! Last night was the best night so far. He didn't sleep much at all the previous nights. I'm so thankful it's getting better!

Such sweet pictures! Hopefully the sleep will work itself out shortly...I think it's a day for every hour you are off a time zone right? And that's awesome how laid back he is, napping in the crib is huge!
